Watched Mother's Cake last night who absolutely rocked the joint. Awesome venue with in the round gig area which is just superb. Gave a much more intimate feel watching live music this way! Loved the little seating areas scattered around and the general feel of the place. Door staff were very friendly and helpful letting me store my brolly at the entrance till I was ready to leave. The toilet was a source of amusement as it the longest loo I have ever been in and for a split second I thought I had slipped into the twilight zone as I have never seen a cubicle that long! ????
AMAZING staff!! Shout out to Iris (I think that was their name, the person with pink hair) behind the bar and security for sorting out a very creepy dude swiftly, without causing a fuss or questioning us about it. Really friendly staff, songs are banging too. Few safe spaces like this for alternative folk, will be coming back!
Went to this place for the first time last night with high hopes. Sadly it did not live up to expectations! The decor is great but oh my god, the music last night was horrendous. Every song played was of the Blink 182, Sum 41 and the Offspring genre but not even their well known songs, just random ones that nobody knows or cares about. Of all the amazing rock music to choose from and this was the best they could do?! Sack the DJ.
Door staff were lovely, bar staff we absolutely horrid. We were severed by a man with dark hair and a cap last night, he made my friend the wrong drink, refused to remake it and shrugged at me, giving me a dirty look when I said it was his error. Also lied to our face saying they don't serve cranberry juice - she got served just fine at the bigger bar afterwards. He was clearly very incapable of taking a basic order. No idea how they can hire such lovely people to work the doors, yet let standards slip when it comes to bar service. I've been going here for about 7 years and it's really put me off.
As a venue, this has major promise. But this is not the case. Djs cannot read the room, failing to play anything that really makes for a good vibe or atmosphere. Requests are great, but if it isn't landing with the crowd, maybe try a different angle. Bar staff need to be clear in their serving. If someone asks for a whisky coke, maybe staff should consider asking whether a person is actually after single malt or a bourbon (bourbon being more common). Don't just assume and make a drink. It's not hard, and it's easy just to ask the question so as not to ruin a person's experience. I have been to satans on numerous occasions and it has slowly deteriorated from the pinnacle of metal clubs to a much lower standard.
